Not only was Debian awarded the "Best Open Source Server Distribution" for its "pioneering work," it also won the prestigious "Outstanding contribution to Open Source/Linux/Free Software," an award presented by Carsten Gerloff, the President the Free Software Foundation Europe, who donned a snazzy Debian tie just for the occasion.
