Summary:A few bits of info on Alioth
Project:Site Admin

Alioth is now live, but in the purest tradition of Free Software it's poorly documented. So here are a few bits of information you may find useful.

- If you want to create a project for collaborative maintenance of a package, please use a "pkg-" prefix in the Unix group name of your project.

- We (the Alioth Cabal) use the "siteadmin" project (https://alioth.debian.org/projects/siteadmin/) to manage the site. So if you have a request to formulate, please use the request tracker on that project. Also, if you want to know *who* the Alioth Cabal is.

- If you want to populate your CVS repository (as opposed to starting from scratch): log in (using SSH) to cvs.alioth.debian.org, and copy your repository into /cvsroot/yourproject. Voil

That's all for now...This project has not yet categorized itself in the Trove Software Map
